Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week as we commemorate Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The congregation enters singing Hosannas and praise and the liturgy ends with the Gospel narrative of the betrayal of our Lord Jesus Christ, a solemn reminder of our human inconsistency and brokenness.

Maundy Thursday (Last Supper)
Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper of Christ. Communion is offered at this service to remember Christ’s last words to His disciples in the institution of the bread and wine as His body and blood. Afterward, the altar is stripped, as Jesus our Lord was taken away, stripped, and tried. The liturgy ends in silence.

The Watch in the Garden
The Watch is the historic and traditional practice of the ancient Church. Christians keep vigil from the end of the Maundy Thursday worship into the night and to the beginning of the Good Friday Liturgy when Christ is crucified. A devotional guide invites us to listen to Jesus as He prays and join Him in prayer.

Good Friday
The Good Friday liturgy celebrates that Jesus “loved us to the end.” (John 13:1) Christ’s death on the cross is a powerful statement of his unconquerable love for the world. Jesus came offering love and healing; the world responded with crucifixion on a cross.

Holy Saturday
Holy Saturday commemorates the day Jesus Christ descended into death and is traditionally a time of vigil, reflection, and waiting. The Flower Guild creates a garden in the Chapel of the Annunciation, symbolizing the garden outside the tomb in which our Lord lay.
